Presidential Palace in Santiago
Arriving in Santiago, Chile, with a jet-lagged induced headache and a full morning’s wait for my hotel room, I saw the city via tour bus for an overview to allow me to ramble the streets later on my trip.
With two flights back to back from Orlando to Miami and thence across South America to Santiago, Chile, I was more than a little woozy getting to registration at my first major SATW Conference.
Despite the lack of sleep, I couldn’t pass up a bus tour of the city for orientation and overview, especially since it would be a few hours before my hotel room was ready. These were among my first glimpses of Santiago, the capital of Chile.

Students were out peacefully protesting, so the presidential palace had a lot of guards ringing it, but the flag atop it indicated “the president is in”.
